After the finishing of a major building refit TAIC held a free training and open
day to 73 local motor engineers. The training was on common rail injector diagnostic
procedures both theory and active sessions on Delphi, Bosch and Siemens systems.
This was presented by Graham Williams BST (Bosch Systems Technician) the workshop
manager and all of the TAIC workshop engineers. Day two saw Delphi's leading field
engineer Richard Sibley join in with the training on Delphi injectors.
Such was the demand for the training that a second day was added.
The attendees gained valuable knowledge not only in fault diagnostics but also on
what is actually inside the units including strip down, repair and testing using
both Bosch and Hartridge benches.
Later in the day presentations were given by Delphi Diesel Systems and Bosch UK which
included the Diesel particulate filter (DPF) and systems that will soon be fitted
to the passenger vehicle.
The open day also gave everyone a chance to see and enquire about the latest diagnostic
tools and equipment which were being shown by Delphi and Bosch. Filtration experts
were also on hand to demonstrate the need for top class OE standard filters on today's
common rail equipped vehicles. All of which can be found on our shop www.dieselpartsdirect.co.uk
The management and staff at TAIC would like to thank all of the engineers that attended.
The feedback from the day was exciting and we hope to carry on serving franchise
and non franchise workshops, factors and distributors. “Friendly staff and well presented
training” D Killick St Georges garage.
Joining the TAIC staff from August 1st 2012 is Kevin O’Sullivanas thenew businesses

experience with qualifications in diesel injection and vehicle electronics.
Before joining Delphi; Kevin started his career in 1982 within the Bosch diesel network
where he remained for 22 years and became the European technical support engineer

NewCommon Rail Clean Room Built and Approved byBOSCH UK
Why the need for a Clean Room?
The introduction of modern high-pressure diesel common rail injection systems working
at 1600 bar and above creates the need of reorganizing workshop practices.
Tolerances held in these new systems can reach 1μm. Therefore, perfect cleaning must
be guaranteed during disassemble and most importantly during set up and reassemble.
Thus, new basic procedures have to be followed during all the process of removal,
installation, repair and breakdown investigations in these diesel injection systems.
To meet the new requirements it is essential to create an exclusive area for assembly
of pumps & injectors. The clean room is developed in such a way to assist all work
procedures stated by Bosch UK & must be approved on inspection by BOSCH.
With the ever increasing work load at Thomas Auto Injection the need for a larger
clean room was required and so we have created a new assembly & set up area meeting
all of BOSCH stage three repair system.
Positive internal air pressure stops un-filtered air entering.
HEPA air filtration system used for filtering room air.
Room contamination entry & work protocols adhered to.
Temperature control keeps all measurements stable.
Traditionally Thomas Auto Injection has been a specialised repairer of fuel injection equipment and has a wealth of experience in that arena.
However over the last few years the business has expanded into parts and accessories distribution with new suppliers added to our portfolio. To help grow this business we have welcomed Lee Edwards to head up our distribution team.
Lee joining us brings many years’ of experience within the automotive parts business with Ferdinand Bilstein UK and the Blue Print brand and will see this area of our business pushing into Europe in 2018.
